Pat Agius has been asked to be a Committee Member on the CMSA Audit & Finance Committee. Pat also continues her work on the the National Education Committee for Conference as the Committee has been extended to update the Toolbox this year. Thanks, Pat, for all you do for us!
At the December meeting we held a fundraiser for the CMSA Foundation Peggy Leonard Memorial Fund and raised a total of $240 from raffle tickets and private donations.We want to thank everyone who participated under the Ambassador Program (Pat Agius is the Chapter Rep) on the drive the Chapter led on 12/12 with the assistance of the National Committee Chair, Jose' Santoro for the CMSA Foundation in honor of Peggy Leonard, who sadly we lost late last year. Peggy was a true mentor, inspiring Case Manager & Leader.
2019 was a great year year for the Mid Atlantic Chapter thanks to you! Our Chapter has been honored to Welcome 30 New Members in 2019. We celebrated our 25th Anniversary. We were honored by National CMSA at the 29th Annual Conference & Expo in Las Vegas this past June with The Chapter Excellence and Innovation Award in Educational Programming for 2019. Our very own Pat Agius received National Case Management Society's Lifetime Achievement Award. Your board of directors listened to you and started offering webinars for CEUs. We anticipate an exciting 2020 and thank you for your continued support of this chapter!
What a fabulous Holiday meeting! Our December meeting did not disappoint! We had 2 informative and entertaining speakers, Melanie Ann Prince MSN, RN-BC CCM, CMSA National President Elect spoke on Military information for case managers "Unlocking the Code to Military Healthcare" and Joseph L. Romano, Esquire covered “Homecare Benefits for Catastrophically Injured Workers: Funding Options” We were also honored with 2 special guests, Jim Puente, Executive Director, National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Nurse Licensure Compact, who gave us an update on nurse licensure compact progress, and Jose Santoro, National Ambassador Committee Chair and Treasurer of CMSA and the CMSA Foundation.
